AAGSNC Black Family History Day – 10-08-11

February 2011 Black Family History Day

After the success of our first Black Family History Day in February 2011, AAGSNC is hosting another Black Family History Day which will take place on October 8, 2011 at the Oakland Family History Center. The event will be held at the Oakland Family History Center at 4766 Lincoln Avenue, Oakland CA 94602 from 2pm to 5pm.  This event is FREE and open to the public.

What is Black Family History Day?  It’s a day where AAGSNC volunteers it’s time to help our community get interested in researching their families.  Our second installment of this event is being held during family history month.  We’re hoping that the event will be multi-generational, where grandparents bring grandchildren and so on.  Additionally, a presentation about the Ancestry Reconnection Program will be given during the event.
