Archdiocese to Publish Sacramental Records of Slaves, Free People of Color Online

The Archdiocese of New Orleans plans to make previously unpublished sacramental records dating from before Louisiana’s statehood available online. Archbishop Gregory Aymond will hold a news conference at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday with archdiocesean archivist Emilie Leumas to demonstrate how to search the records.
